Christmas and Winter Story Competition
You can win one of two Flip Mino HD DV Cameras.
About the competition There are two categories, you can either:
use StoryCreator 2 to create a Christmas or winter story for our competition. Or write a text story with a picture or illustration that you upload to the text story area of the site using the text submission form.
Please remember all stories must have a Christmas or Winter theme.
You can win one of two Fantastic Flip Mino HD DV Cameras (External Link) and have your story put into the showcase.The competition closes at midnight GMT on Monday the 14th December 2009.
To enter the competition you must be aged between 7 and 16. What to do: - Create your story; you can use all of the features of StoryCreator 2 or the text story submission form including sound, recording and uploading your own pictures or create a text story only. It’s up to you.
- Save your story (if you are submitting a StoryCreator story and have not already joined, you will need to join first – it’s quick and free)
- Submit your story using the “Submit to the Christmas and Winter Competition” button on the Submit page in Story Creator or by checking the competition checkbox on the text story form.

- An email address that we can use to contact an adult (teacher, parent or carer). We will use this to get in touch if you win. Please take care as you enter this address, as we will not be able to contact you if it is wrong.
All the Christmas and winter stories will be reviewed and, if accepted, published on the website in the Christmas and Winter Story Category.
The competition will close at midnight GMT on the 14th of December 2009, and the judges will announce the winner here on this page of the Myths and Legends website on the 20th December 2009.
What are the judges looking for?
- A good story with a Christmas or winter theme. Creative, interesting and exciting.
- An interesting use of words to engage the reader in the text section, or good use of StoryCreator 2 with well made scenes that fit with the story text.
Rules: - These rules include any instructions set out in the terms of the competition. By entering the competition, the entrant will be deemed to have read and understood these rules and instructions and to agree to be bound by them.
- The competition is open to anyone aged between 7 and 16 anywhere in the World
- There will be 2 judging categories, ages 7-11 and 12-16
- The Judges’ decision is final
- Only one entry per person is allowed.
- If you upload your own sound or images then you must ensure that you don’t use copyright material (pictures or sound taken off the web without permission). We cannot publish copyright material.
- All entries must include valid age and adult email address contact details (added in a short form when the story is submitted).
- Proof of submission of story is not proof of our receipt of entries. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost.
- No cash alternative or alternative prize is available on entrant’s request, but, in the event of the advertised competition prize being unavailable, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
