A myth submitted to the site by Zinnia Marniel Bendayon

Baguio, Panay, Philippines

Long, long time ago our ancestors believed that there are no red roses,.only white....until a magical event happened.

There were stories foretold about a butterfly who fell in love with a white rose. The story starts as. .

Qne day while a butterfly was flying around the garden he noticed a beautiful flower who attracted him at once.

He then went to the flower and asked her if she would accept his love for her then the flower answeres that she would accept the butterfly's love if he would turn red.

Then the butterfly have no choice but to cut a part of his body and blood poured on the flower and it turned red.

Then the flower accepted the butterfly's love but it was too late because the butterfy died after he had cut a part of his body just to make the flower accept his true love.

That's why the flower was called rose because of the love between a couple.
