How waterfalls came to be

A myth submitted to the site by Millie Evans

Gosport, Hampshire

Once upon a time there were no waterfalls on earth, only seas and rivers. One day Mojo monkey and Mia mouse both went searching for some golden treasure.

Glaring at their map they knew that to find the treasure they knew they had to search for a fall. Searching all around the island they got thirsty and hungry so to pick things up Mia mouse took out her tiny binoculars from her rucksack staring into the distance Mia spotted a fall by the corner of the island everyone said it was the most prettiest fall on the island.

Mojo and Mia started to run as fast as they could to the fall it was as if there lives depended on getting their in record breaking time. After running as fast as cheetahs they reached the prettiest fall on the island!

Smooth soft pebbles gathered around the dip of the bottom of the fall. The fresh green grass tickled Mojo feet as he walked across it. Fluffy pink clouds bobbed and floated in the sky. Big stones blocked many things path as they lay by the falls side. Spring flowers dotted the grass with there lovely scent and looks.

Mojo and Mia ran across the muddy falls pool. Digging in the mud like cranes on the side of the fall to find there treasure. Water started to drip like a tap out of the mud and a hole begun to get deeper and deeper but Mojo and Mia took no notice until water gushed out from the fall.

The waters power flew Mojo and Mia from there digging point! Crystal blue water sprung out like a jack in the box. The waves crashed out from the fall as fast as anything. Magically the water turned the mud into stone! The flowers danced as soon as they felt the fresh water there leaves refreshed them happily. Daisies, daffodils and roses scent got stronger. Mojo’s and Mia’s eyes grew in astonishment.

The warm breeze brushed past animal’s coat. Crashing waves of blue rushed from the top of the death drop of beauty. Falling quickly and heavy as a tonne, water gushed out. Sounds of birds tweeting and waves rumbling like an empty tummy. Tropical blue water avalanched and splashed against the trees. Floating lily pads fell to the pool of water like feathers. All the animals of the island drank water from the waterfall and had a topical blue drink.

Amazed by the pretty waterfalls Mojo and Mia both went back everyday to dig a bit more to try keeping the waterfall as pretty possible and find there treasure.
