Birth Of The Rainbow

A myth submitted to the site by Ella B

Bahrain, London

Many, many moons ago there was a powerful god. He said to one of his his craft men "Make me a new bow my other one is broken."

Then when it was done, the god said to one of his art men "paint it with 6 colours which are red like the roses in the world, yellow like the sun in space, orange like the fruit, violet like the passion fruit, blue as the sky ,purple like the purple grapes and last but not least green like the green grapes.

Now set it out to dry."

When it rained and the sun shone there begun some colourful thing in the sky. The god said " now what shall we call this thing?"
Then one of the craft men spoke up and said "how about a rainbow?"

Then the god said "what a wonderful idea."
