The Wolf Girl

A myth submitted to the site by Bella Sánchez

La Push, United States

There was a girl. She had no family she was left in the woods, alone and cold, at midnight she was awoken by howling, a full moon up above her. A white wolf, bigger than any normal wolf, padded up to her.
“Human child,” She said, “I take pity on you, as the queen of all the wolfs I shall raise you as I would one of my cubs.” She smiled down at the child and thought of a name, “I shall call you Luna, since I found you in the light of the moon,”

14 years past and the girl was now a teenager, she was beautiful, long ice white hair, blue eyes as pure as ice and skin as white as the moon. She was the princess of the wolf tribe.

“Luna.” Called the Wolf Queen, “Luna the time has come for you to pick one to be your soul mate, there are plenty of alphas.” Luna had spent her life with one omega, his name was Midnight, he had pure black fur and the same ice blue eyes, at first they where friends but in time they had grown to love for one another she was not allowed to marry him but she could ask.
“Your highness? Midnight is a pure wolf and although he is an omega he would make a perfect husband.”
“If he truly loves you, you may choose him.” The queen smiled down at her daughter. “I want you to be happy.”

She ran to Midnight wanting to tell him the news but the king was waiting for her. These wolfs had minds that could communicate through long distances without talking, so most of the tribe must know.
“Luna, I know you love Midnight and Midnight knows the queens decision, this is Ash,” a grey black wolf with brown eyes bowed to the princess, “he would like your paw in marriage and has challenged Midnight to a duel it will take place tonight at the full moon.” Devastated about the duel she lay and slept for the rest of the day.

It was an hour before the duel that the princess woke, she ran to Midnight jumping to him and hugging him with her human hands, “Good luck,” She whispered on tear dripping from her eyes. The battle was bloody, just when Midnight was wining Ash grabbed his throat and bit. As Midnight lay on the ground, Luna was so angry she started to shake, she felt her cloths rip and there stood a pure white wolf, she ran to Midnight and using the power of love healed him, she became the first Wolf-human, after many years a whole tribe of them formed now known as lupus luna.
