The Jealous Nymph

A myth submitted to the site by Makenna

A long time ago there was a God named Alexanderest. He was very rich yet so unpopular. He was the greediest God, and he always got what he wanted, and he never gave anything to the lesser. One day when Alexanderest was walking along the river, a nymph popped out from behind
the water and watched the rich God walk by. The nymph wanted so bad the power to make everything beautiful and rich like Alexanderest could. She couldn't help but be jealous of him.

The next day Alexanderest walked by the lake again and the nymph was sitting there begging for money. "You poor nymph thinking that people will give you money. I could give you money since I have so much but that would be nice, and I'm not nice to nymphs" Alexanderest laughed in the nymph's face right before pushing her into the river.

Even though no one ever hurt a God the nymph wanted her revenge. The next night after everyone in town was asleep the nymph broke into Alexanderest's castle. After sneaking past all the guards she went to where he kept all of his money. Being as smart as she was she opened the
safe by using her bobby pin from her hair. The nymph dumped the contents of the safe into her bag and scurried out.

When Alexanderest woke up and realized everything was gone he fell apart. He couldn't pay his bills so he was kicked out of his castle and ended up living behind the lake where the nymph used to live. Soon after her robbery the nymph bought the castle and was able to live the life she always wanted to live, but she realized this wasn't what she wanted. She didn't enjoy the guilt in the back of her mind because she only got this by stealing.

After much thought the nymph decided to turn herself in. She gave back the money, but they still killed her for stealing from a God. The nymphs can't live rich and the Gods can't live poor and that's just how it is.
