Lincoln Imp

A myth submitted to the site by Zoe Robinson

Lincoln Cathedral, England

One fine windy day a long time ago a devil named Satan sent the two Imps to go and play tricks on people. But they were just flying and there was a big gust of wind what flew them to Lincoln Cathedral. The Imps were called Gary and Barry. Also they were both very good at playing tricks on people.

They went to Lincoln in Lincoln Cathedral. One Imp was too scared to go in but the other Imp just went in. When he went in he tripped up the Lord Bishop and laughs. Then he teased the Vergers and the Choir while he was doing that an angel came out of a hymn book. The Angel was furious at this she was really furious. But the Imp started throwing rocks at the Angel. The Angel warned him, but the Imp just ignored the Angel and started breaking windows and the angel told him to stop. He still ignored the Angel so the Angel just turned him to stone.

And to this day he is still stood there in stone at Lincoln Cathedral. The moral is that good will always triumph over evil.
