The Lincoln Imp

A myth submitted to the site by Chloe East

Lincoln Cathedral, Lincolnshire

One legendary day in hell,Satan bellowed "Timber and mischeif come bow infront of your leader".
"But sir we have done this 8 times today complained Timber" UHH! go on then"Satan annoyingly said.
"YES! thank you sir".Mischeif and Timber flow out the window with their tails following behind.

(This was there first time outside at day but little did they know the angels of heaven were watching every move they made.)

The two Imps played and planned to until the sun goes down. But they found them selves flying to win a great game they played. AHH!...

They found them selves flying in the powerful wind blew flying around and around again and again doing flips and summer salts. As the wind stoped to a halt they started falling above rocky grounds about 11 feet ave the ground sufleet. However hard he flew they could not escape. As they reached the ground they broke a sign now saying linc cathe meaning Lincoln Cathedral, talk about peace and quite for the master. Mischeif knew his mission...

...He would have to go inside Lincoln Cathedral as he goes in he runs to the front of the Cathedral he clambers all over the screaming brides glamorous dress wrecking it with prints on the white dress(which is now brown). Pinching the rings off the Lord Bishop as he does Timber was watching him from one of the windows half smashed by Mischef and his cruel ways. Then he ran and charged out of the Deon making him trip over his own feet.

The people charged out of the cathedral with hats leaving behind the Imp was so malicious and pernicious he wrecked the whole cathedral he bullied the Vergers and choir .(Satan would be so proud ).

Meanwhile in hell " Ahhhhhhh! a nice cuppa , its nice to have some peace and quiet I can try a bubble bath now" relaxingly said Satan "what? A devil needs some peace and some breaks. What, do you think devils can't have breaks because they are nefarious? You must be kidding."

Back to the story. The angels started to know how the imp was making chaos in Lincoln Cathedral and they chose alapatic (one of the angels) down to sort it out. When he got down there (about half an hour later) he found pillars tipped over, windows smashed, the Bishop in the flower bed outside and the Dean praying for peace in the balcony bars with his head wedged in between the bars.

The Imp crept up behind and started lobbing stone at him. The angel suddenly turned around lost for words "oh!" he cried "stop!"

"What if I dont?" said Mischief.
"Well" said the angel "this." The angel suddenly used its powers - it had turned him into a stone statue and now the angel flew up smashing the rood of the cathedral. "I'll fix that later" he shouted. The imp is now lying in the middle of the cathedral. Hw was moved to the wall and now put on the cathedral.
