Mt everest

A myth submitted to the site by Dylan Gormly

Batlow, Australia

One day, a long time ago the only man named to the earth called John Everest came out of the ground. He felt so angry he threw a rock from out of his pocket. When it hit the ground, the ground shook and mountains grew from every direction. He then came to a massive water hole but there was no water, he started to cry and when the first tear drop hit the ground it expanded and made the water hole have water in this.

After a few days he noticed one of the mountains was taller than the other, it went up for ages into the gods. He went to the very top and seen a man, the man then said ‘John you are the creator of this mountain the tallest mountain known to man’, John was shocked of what he had herd, he then said since ‘I am the creator I shall call this mountain Mt Everest' Then the man picked up a stick and hit it at the ground and snow started to fall making the mountain full of snow.’
And that’s how Mt Everest got its name.
