All for Fifty Euros!

A myth submitted to the site by Sadhbh

Castlefreake, Co. Cork , Ireland

One night I went for a walk in a forest called the black wood. It has been said that it is haunted. Why would I walk in a forest that is said to be haunted at night time?? Well, I am doing it for a dare. And why am I doing this dare? For money of course, fifty euro!!

Now back to the forest, it is said to be haunted by ghosts, witches and werwolves. As I entered the forest I suddenly heard a blood curdling howl. I shivered slightly not just because I was only wearing my pyjamas on this freezing night but because, as you can well imagine I was terrified. I thought to myself, why don't I just return to my nice warm bed but then I also thought of all the things I could do with fifty euro, so I continued to walk.

I looked up to the sky and realised there was full moon. I thought to myself that I could definitely have company tonight! I walked about a quarter of a mile into the woods and then I saw it!! A huge wolf stood before me, the biggest you could ever imagine. It was as big as 2 wolves put together. I ran down the path and then realised I was running towards the wolf. I looked behind me and I saw another wolf closing in on me. He was as big if not bigger than the first one. Suddenly I heard a woman's voice saying, 'now, now don't harm her, I need her for potions'.

I screamed and suddenly I heard a familiar voice, it was my mother. 'Get out of bed or you'll be late for school'. Much to my relief I woke up in my own warm bed.
