Theseus and the Dragon

A myth submitted to the site by Sonic

Finland, Finland

Long, long ago in Finland a blizzard was raging fiercely around me so I stumbled down the long road. I was miles from any farm, and knew I had to seek shelter or freeze to death. It was freezing, pure, windy and blinding. It was with gratitude that I spotted a cafe and pushed my way through the door. Every eye in the room looked at me, as I ordered coffee with the last of my money. As the bartender went to fetch the hot drink, most of the regulars returned to their conversations. But one man continued to stare. I looked at my watch and it was nearly my bedtime. Quickly as possible I got home.

It was twilight time. I was watching television in my house when I heard an explosion. More followed. So I went outside to see what the matter was. I felt scared and petrified.
A column of dark billowing smoke told me the story. There was a fire raging a short distance away. I got my bicycle and pedaled in the direction of the smoke. A couple of kilometres later I came upon the fire.

It was a row of power stations and they were burning furiously. The flames overflowed the crumbling houses, spreading their rage through everything in their way. What I saw, I could not stop my scream. The rotating machine had caught fire; people from the neighboring areas were rushing towards the power station. A terrifying dragon was breathing fire on Mr Aegean's power station. They were pouring buckets of water to extinguish fire. Many people were throwing sands and dust over the fire. A few people were trying to control fire by throwing blankets on it. But the fire was ravaging. It was a horrible sight.Suddenly I saw a hose pipe and sprayed it over the fire but it didn't work. The dragon was too strong

The townspeople complained at the King. King Olympus got very cross. His son wanted to kill the dragon. He asked the king "Can I go and kill the dragon!"said Theseus as he clenched his fist.
"I am not sure?"said the king as he scratched his hair.
"You will be proud of your son after I killed the dragon!" said Theseus
"Ok!" said the king
The four gods each gave Theseus a weapon.Theseus went and saw the dragon. Theseus got his bow and arrow and aimed the arrow in the dragon's mouth. It couldn't breathe any more fire. It was half dead. He aimed the other one on his heart. The dragon was dead. The crowd cheered. A woman fell in love with Theseus. Theseus got annoyed by the woman so he pushed the woman to the fire. The gods were furious.

Finally the blaze died down and darkness enveloped us. The crowd got thinned. Theseus went home and saw his father dead hanging on the wall. His father was dead by the gods. Theseus was heart-broken.
