Merge and the Snake's Rings

A myth submitted to the site by Edwina

Wales , London

Once upon a time there was a servant called Merge. He worked for the king. The king had a daughter her name was Mandolin, every time when Mandolin saw him she would smile. Merge will always smile back.

One day the king was having a dinner party everyone had to bring at least one ring for him! Merge was poor and he didn't have any money to buy a ring! The kings daughter knew that Merge didn't have any money to buy a ring, so Mandolin just had to send him on the craziest quest in the whole world Mandolin said ' the only way to get a ring is to go to the snakes cave and steal the golden ring, if he doesn't he will get sacked and he will never be aloud to come back to the castle ever again!' Merge truly loved Mandolin and truly loved his job so he accepted the quest and started his journey.

It was getting really dark and the dinner party was almost over when a goddess came to speak to Merge, the Goddess said' Merge my son to actually get the snakes ring you have to find a way to distract them. I am giving you this silver necklace. You have to hold it up and drop it on the floor so the snakes could get hypnotised.'
'I hope this works ' Merge added.
'best of luck Merge!' the goddess said. Merge continued his Journey .

Just Finally he found the snakes cave. He had almost forgotten about the silver necklace the goddess gave to him. Merge dropped the silver necklace but forgotten he had to lift the necklace up high first he did not understand what what was going on. This is when the Goddess came to save him and protect him. The Goddess blinded the snakes eye's and without a flash Merge went to take the ring. The Goddess teleported him back to the castle and he said his thanks to the Goddess.

The dinner party was almost over it was presents time ! Merge was the first to give the king the present. The king was stunned he said the ring was from the snakes cave! Mandolin smiled at him. The next morning the king took him as King Merge. He was so thankful for the ring he even let Mandolin marry Merge. And they all lived happily ever after . or did they...........
