Orpheus and Eurydice

A myth submitted to the site by Ruqeya

Greece, Ancient Greece

Once lived a young man called Orpheus, with his wonderful love Eurydice. They had loved each other forever Orpheus would think about her face. One day as they where walking Eurydice felt something painful as she screamed in pain and died. All Orpheus found was a snake. She had been bitten by the snake.

''Hades!'' He said .He sailed to the under world and there was a 3headed gaurd dog. The dog barked so loudly. Orpheus began to play a song about Eurydice. Hades began to cry .
'Wife! Whats that noise ?' He said.
'It must be Orpheus the musician' Persephone said.
'Wheres eurydice' he said. I will let you take her only IF you dont look at her till you are up on earth.' Orpheus agreed.

As they where up Orpheus said 'not long to go' he said. She didnt reply - he looked back and then Eurydice screamed 'Orpheus Orpheus why?!' As she sank into the underworld.
