Why There is a Night, Day, Stars

A myth submitted to the site by Shelby Becker

Long ago one weird day all the animals where fighting and sun said stop. They didn't stop. Sun asked them a second time. They still didn't stop. Sun put a blanket on the earth. The animals where scared.

Then eagle said he could do it. Then hawk said he could do it. They both failed. Then humming bird said he could help. Everyone laughed. They asked how. He said " Teamwork. "
So the next day hawk got onto eagles back and humming bird got onto hawk's back. Eagle flew as high as he could go, then hawk jumped off his back and flew as high as he could go then humming bird flew and poked holes in the blanket, cause that is all he could do.

Then as soon as sun saw the holes he said that he would take the blanket off only for half the day. Unless you be good.

That is how we have night, day, and stars
