Zeus vs. Hera

A myth submitted to the site by PAS2564

United States

There's all different types of male and female Gods like Zeus and Hera. Zeus is the God of the sky and Hera is the protector of marriage. These two gods seem very different but they also have similarities like that their both rulers or protectors of something. Zeus and Hera are similar because they are both mean and they both planned to kill someone; however the differ in the way that one is the ruler of the sky and his weapon is the thunderbolt, and the other is the protector of marriage and her weapon is her cleverness.

Zeus and Hera are similar because they tried to kill or hurt someone. Zeus wanted to kill Cronos. He wanted to do this because he wanted to be the ruler of the sky. On page 104 of Oh My Gods it said: “... when Cronus heard a prophecy that he would be overthrown by his own son, he became fearful and scared...”(Bryant 104). Zeus managed to kill his father and over and become the ruler of the sky. Hera tried to hurt Zeus. She wanted to do this because Zeus was cheating on him. On page 77 of Shes all that it said “...with Hera in the lead position , poseidon and athena staged a revolt to remove Zeus”. Hera wasn’t able to hurt or kill Zeus. That is one reason Zeus and Hera are similar.

There's also other ways Zeus and Hera are similar. One of the other ways would be that they were both tricky and mean. Zeus started a war with the titans because he felt like it. On page 107 it said “Zeus started a war with the titans called titanomachy”(Bryant 107). He managed to basically wipe out all of the titans. Hera was sick of Zeus cheating on her so she took out all her anger on Zeus's children and girlfriends. On page 77 of Shes All That it stated “Hera took her anger out on Zeus's girlfriend and children”. Hera killed all of them but Zeus still found a way to find more girlfriends. That is the second way Zeus and Hera are are similar.

Zeus and Hera also have different like what their god or controller of. Zeus is the god of the sky. It says on page 106 of Oh My Gods “Zeus is the ruler of the sky, he controls the weather and produces rain and storms”(Bryant 106). He wants to be the ruler of everything but that is out of his reach. Hera is the protector of marriage. On page 77 it stated “even though Hera was the protector of marriage she could not keep her husband faithful”. She was so mad at him she started hurting his other girlfriend and children. That is one way Zeus and Hera differ.

Another way Zeus and Hera differ is their weapons. Zeus’s weapon is his thunder bolts. It said on page 105 “Dont make me hurl your thunder bolts at you”(Bryant 105). This proves that Zeus’s weapon is his thunder bolts since he is the ruler of the sky. Hera’s weapon is her smartness. On page 77 it said “Hera tried to trick Zeus to do something stupid so he would be held captive”. Zeus was held captive for a little bit but managed to escape. This proves that her weapon is her smartness and cleverness.

In conclusion Zeus and Hera have some similarities and also some differences. They are both mean and they both planned to kill someone but however they differ in the way that one is the ruler of the sky and his weapon is the thunderbolt and the other is the protector of marriage and her weapon is her cleverness. both of them are VERY different but also are similar.
