Lord Mercury and the Gift of Truth

A myth submitted to the site by Saransh

Rajasthan, India

Once upon a time there lived a woodcutter.
One fine day he was doing his job as usual and his axe fell into a river nearby and he was upset and tried to get hold of it but could not have it.
Suddenly lord Mercury appeared and asked him what happened
then the woodcutter told him what happened and then lord went underwater and brought a golden axe, and the woodcutter said it was not his.
The same followed when he brought a silver axe this time
and he said no again.
It followed again when he brought a bronze axe and he said it was his and was rewarded the other 2 axes.

MORAL-Honesty is the best policy.
