Echo and Narcissus

A myth submitted to the site by Francesca

A forest, I don't know

Once there was a nymph named Echo. One day she met a man named Narcissus, but being a nymph she couldn't talk properly, she could only repeat what had just been said. "Who are you?" He said.
"Who are you?" Echo replied.
"Stop it!" Narcissus scowled.
"Stop it!" Echo replied. Narcissus got angry and left.

Echo was weeping when Nemisis, goddess of revenge, overheard Echo. She decided to help Echo by letting Narcissus see his reflection in the river for the first time.
He couldn't tear away his reflection, so he stayed watching the water and died there.

Now there are flowers growing by the water where he sat. Also, if you shout into a tunnel, you can hear Echo the nymph talking back to you.
