Esther and the Fat Frog

A myth submitted to the site by Jada

Village of Willoby, Greece

Esther, who was a very naughty girl, lived in the village with her mother. They were a very poor family because Esther's father had died in the war against Rome and Greece, which her father fought for in the City of Troy. Despite being poor somehow they managed to live in such a small compound.
One day Esther was sent to pick some strawberries when she met a fat, green frog. The minute she saw the sight of strange shape she screamed with fright.
''ugh''Esther said
''Its that ugly frog i see when i go to visit the pond'' and she carried on walking.
This comment was not going to change anything because everytime she walked the frog leapt after her. Esther had a plan. She thought in her head, if I jump in the water the frog will follow me and hurt itself. Even though everyone knows that if a frog starts to follow you never jump in water because frogs can swim but Esther never thought of it that way.
She jumped into the freezing cold water and with Esther in suprise the frog did not move.
Angrily Esther stepped out of the water and walked home, soaked totally forgetting about the strawberries. When she got home her mother made a big fuss of her putting a towel over her and continuously asking her what had happened. She told her mum everything that had happened but obviously her mum did not believe her.

The next day Esther was sent to pick some strawberries again and she was also warned not to do anything silly but this was not going to stop Esther. She skipped out of the door happily and then put her serious face on. She walked towards the place she had met the frog and it was there but Esther was in for a big suprise......

Suddenly the frog started saying a whole load of things!!!!!! like, "I grant you one wish and use it wisely." and she said ''ok,silly talking frog'' but as we all know its not nice to 'insult' someone who is going to do something nice for you and the frog just walked away. Esther begged for forgivness but the frog did not listen and this is how Esther became a good girl.
