The Devil's Eye

A myth submitted to the site by Samantha ( Mrs Betts Class)

There once was a boy named Jake and he had a dog. Jake was poor, but thats just a little part about it, he loved to steal things. Day after day after day you heard all over town "where is my purse?", "Did you steal my hat" "Where did all my money go?".
One day the usual happened, but it wasn't any person, it was one of the people walking in the woods. He was big, but Jake wasn't afraid of that.
He walked up slowly behind the man in the woods. Jake was like a speck of sand on a beach and slowly grabbed the basket the man was holding and ran and hid behind a tree. The tall man stood straight and looked behind him. He wasn't just a man, his skin burned like a hot pan and turned red, fire flames burst out of his hands and let out a huge roar.
Jake had never had that expirience before. He knew it was a devil once it turned around, but he couldn't beleive it. His dog was with him and he knows the stealing routine but was frightened, but he had to stick up for his master. He jumped up and clawed the devils eye out and the devil roared in agony. The dog signaled Jake and they ran away and they lost the devil. They looked to see what was in the basket it was empty! They did all of that for an empty basket. "At least we still have a devils eye!" He patted his dog on the head, and they both fell asleep under a tree.

By morning they mysteriously disapeared and the last trace of them is that eye.
