How the Sun was Made

Northern Territory, Australia

Ever since there was time, there were no other light source, other than the moon and fire itself.

Long before humans there were only birds and beasts, all of which were larger than they are today.

Bert the emu and Elmo the mongoose were best of companions living on a large plain near kakamulinga. But this particular day the companions were fighting, Elmo was furiously mad at Bert and raided Berts nest. Elmo threw one of bert's eggs up into the sky into a heap of fire, spilling all the yolk on to it then lit up the world so bright.
"Wow, i've never seen this many colours before...... WHAT DID YOU DOOOO?!" Bert yelled at the top of his voice.
Elmo was speechless, but astonished at the same time with his mouth wide open.

Meanwhile, a good spirit who lived in a cherry tree saw how bright and beautiful the earths new look was and wanted the earth to stay like this but, he new they wouldn't have enough eggs to keep it up so he decided to make days and nights.
So now the spirit, Bert and Elmo set a fire for the yolk and that is how the sun was made.
