Anulia-The Moon and The Sun

A myth submitted to the site by KAT

There was a young girl by the name of Anulia. Only she was not any young girl. They called her the moon and the sun. Her eyes shone like gold and her hair was the silver of the moonlight.
One day when she was of the ripe age of eight years, and a decade, she was asked a curious question,"Which life is worth more, an animals or a persons?"
What was yet more strange was the someone who had asked her. It had come from a dream. The dream was a garden; half of it was covered by the moons light, while the other half was covered by the sun. Both parts spoke to her in usion.
Despite it being a dream she answered. "Neither are worth more then the other." There was a silence and a lonely sigh was heard. Not a noise was heard afterward, and the dream faded into black.
The next night the strange garden reapeared. It asked another question. "Why?" At first Anulia did not understand, but then her words tumbled out, afraid she would go unheard. "For each creature, stupid or smart, there is a soul. Uncorrupted at first, they can choose which tree they climb; which path they take. That is why." Anulia stoped, expecting a question. Another sigh was heard, and it was black.
There was no dream the next night, or the next night. It went on like this for three weeks. On the fourth week there was not a dream, but a unusual apearance of a man. His hair was golden and eyes the silver of the moonlight. He was looking for a girl by the name of Anulia. He checked with every tavern and store, finally find one that would tell him where she lived.
Anulia was home when there was a knock was at her cottage door. She opened it it reveal a man who said his name was Ledge. His voice sounded gratingly familar, but she didn't ever remember meeting the tall, handsome man.
"Do you know who I am? "
"No." Anulia stared at him, in hope it would help her recall something.
"I am half of the moon and half of the sun. Do you know who you are?"
"The dream garden!," Anulia exclaimed,"Not me, but you."
"Who are you?," he asked.
She shruged ln response.
"You are half of me; we are one. My dear, we are gardains of the earth, providing light and love for all. Return with me Anulia so that both may prosper again"
She nodded yes in stunned silence, knowing it was right. Ledge took her hands and they both slowly faded into the sunlight.
