The Pearl

A myth submitted to the site by Shanice Mehra


I never knew how to get it. Why did I have to do this quest? It all began the day before New Years Eve. I just feel bad for all the people I left there in that horrible place.

It was 9 pm, “It’s time for bed, it’s late!” mum whispered. I tip-toed upstairs whilst mum was washing up. I tried to go sleep but nothing happened. Suddenly I heard a bang outside! I walked towards the window and saw a shining light.

I put my gown on and walked outside to the garden, I searched for that light, but it was only the fortune teller. I asked her “What will happen in my future?” she thought for a while and told me “your future is very important; you have been put upon an epic quest to find the pearl. Just go into the door of mysteries.”

I crept to the door and opened it. Suddenly I was gone in another world, it was filled with rubbish and everything was grey like the olden times! Somehow I saw this girl who I knew a long time ago, it was Sarah Lake! “Hi Sarah, what are you doing here? How did you disappear?” I asked her.
“I tried to get the pearl but I’m cursed by the Pearl Witch!” Sarah replied. I was shocked. I ran to the witch’s castle and saw the pearl in the top room! How am I going to get that? I thought. I asked everyone but they said “Use the rope over there.” I climbed up the rope and saw the pearl. I set off the fire alarm whilst grabbing the pearl I ran to Sarah and dragged her to the door.
Bang! We were in the fortune tellers den. I sprinted to the house and told mum “Please can Sarah stay?” Mum nodded.
That was my adventure I had, but what was yours?
