A long time ago, there was a girl called Persephone. She was picking flowers with her friends. Suddenly, she saw this flower that looked really strange. She picked it out of the ground and suddenly BANG!!! Hades came from the underworld on his chariot. Hades kidnapped Persephone. Suddenly Hades used magic and made a big hole at the water. They fell down in to the underworld. Persephone sits down on a chair. They start arguing for about a minute or two.
Hades says “I took you down to the underworld because I wanted to have a living girl to be my bride”.
“No!!!” Persephone says. “I am not doing it. Let me go back”.
Zeus sends Hermes to the underworld. Hermes brings three pieces of pomegranate. They chop them in half and get three seeds out and give them to Persephone. Persephone eats the seeds, then Persephone goes back to see her mother, Demiter.

Demiter noticed that Persephone had quite red lips. Demiter, Persphone’s mother, yelled “Did you have anything to eat?”
“No” said Persephone. “Oh, except for three pomegranate seeds”.
Demiter started to cry.
“Why are you crying mother?” said Persephone.
“Because you will have to go back to the underworld three months every year. So when you go I will turn it into winter. You will have to go back soon” said Demiter.
“OK” said Persephone.
