Alice in Wonderland

A myth submitted to the site by Robert

England and Wonderland, Oxford

Alice sat under a tree, making daisy-chains until a Rabbit rushed by her. He was dressed in a red waiscoat, looking ast his pokcet-watch.
"Oh my, I shall be too late!" he said and hopped down a large Rabbit-hole inside a hollow tree. Alice ran to the tree and crawled inside, she found herself walking down a long tunnel, the tunnel ended...and Alice found herself falling down a very, deep well. She saw a shelf with a teapot and a bookshelf.
She grabbed from the top of it, a jar that was labeled ORANGE MARMALADE, but when she opened the jar, she found it empty. "After a fall like this one, tumbling downstairs would be nothing," Alice said as she put the jar backin in a cupboard. "I wonder if I should fall through the Earth?" she thought as she fell past a coat-hanger that flew by. "I wish Dinah were up here with me, too bad she isn't," said Alice and she landed on a pile of leaves. She saw the Rabbit and followed it down a passge then through a door and soon found herself in an endless hall with doors on each side.
Nearby was a glass table with a skeleton key on it. Alice picked up the key and wondered which door it belonged to....

Alice picked up the key and saw a pink curtain. She pushed it aside and saw a small, blue door. She opened it and saw a beautiful garden....but she couldn't get through!
"I'm much too big, if only I could shut up like a telescope," she said and ran back to the table. On the table stood a white bottle of apple juice which was labeled DRINK ME. "Well, this isn't poison I suppose," she said and put the bottle to her lips. She shrank to ten inches and ran for the door...but it was locked! "The key! I've forgotten the key!" cried Alice. She saw a gold chest and opened it: she found in it, a little pound cake on which the words EAT ME was marked in warm, pink frosting. Alice took a bite and her neck strecthed and her head bumped the ceiling! Would she ever get into the garden?
