What Really Rules the Sky?

A myth submitted to the site by Jenna

Devon, Queensland

Legends have it there’s a large scaly lizard cross bird things that rule the sky all over the world.

There once was a man named Mr Brown who worked at the lighthouse in Treasure Bay and lived with his wife Cassandra Brown.

It was time to go and light the torch in the lighthouse so he started walking up the lane to the lighthouse. It was starting to get darker by the second and Mr Brown saw a storm rolling in from the east.

He hurried up the lane to the lighthouse. As he was walking he saw a large shadow upon him so he looked up and there was nothing there, so he hurried on. He reached the lighthouse and walked up the stairs.

When he reached the top he froze to see a large scaly lizard like bird in front of him. Suddenly there was a flash of lightning and it was gone. So Mr Brown continued lighting the torch. He went down the stairs and grabbed the lantern by the door and walked out.

Mr Brown was walking down the lane when all of a sudden the large scaly lizard like bird landed in front of him. He was scared he didn’t know what to do, He just stood there then he heard a voice it said,

“Mr Brown of the lighthouse, I’m here to look after you there is danger here all around us please came with me.”
Mr Brown just stood there he didn’t know what to think,
“This huge lizard bird thing wants me to go with it”
“Excuse me I am not a thing and I’m only here doing my job”
“Then what are? Who are you?”
“I am Sophia your guide and you’re Dragon”
“Dragon....... you mean Dragons are real”
“Yes Mr Brown, We are real”
“We....... You mean there are more of you!!!”
“Yes we are all over the world”
“Oh my and you want me to go with you?”
“Yes please get on my back quickly and I will explain on the way”
“But what about my family my wife”
“Mr Brown it is all okay I have already spoken with her she says that if you need to go she will raise your child up on her own. She loves you very, very much Mr Brown.”

So Mr Brown hopped on to Sophia’s back and off they went.
Mr Brown Was never seen again until one day a small boy was walking along Treasure Bay Beach and saw a large creature in the sky and a human ridding on the back. The Boy smiled and continued walking. For the Human ridding on the back of the creature was his Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather Mr Brown.
