One night, it transipred, up in the heavens, that moist warm air from the south and cold icy air from the north met over the city of Nottingham.

It had been a wintry cold few days so as the air came together, instead of forming rain to wash away the joy of the day, the water fell as snow.

Clocks across the city burst into life, awaking their owners with shrill, loud chorus.
Another loud chorus came from the children of the city as they saw the ground blanketed with white.

Radios crackled and were quickly tuned and retuned as children and adults alike listened with enchantment for the news they so desperately desired.
